  •     Owen Biggins  b: May 01, 1830 in County CAVAN, Ireland d: December 10, 1892 (probably Springfield, Clark County, Ohio) Owen Biggins emigrated from County Cavan, Ireland to New Orleans about 1849. Obituary in 1892 says that Owen was survived by two sisters. Owen married Catherine McGivney b: 1834  County CAVAN m: Aft. 1849  d: March 11, 1899 in maybe 25 Jan 1899  Emigrated from County Cavan, Ireland to New York, NY about 1844. She worked in New York for six years to pay passage for her two sisters and one brother to come from Ireland to America. GAS note in 1984; lastname listed as McViving on Anna (child's) death cert, but all other family records indicate McGivney.
        Owen and Catherine (McGivney) Biggins lived at 38 East Madison. Owen gave the house at 40 East Madison, Springfield, Ohio as a wedding present to his daughter Anna Elizabeth (BIGGINS) Odenbaugh and her husband Harry.

The will of OF MARY BIGGINS in 1944 indicates that Charles BIGGINS born about 1828 would have been Owen BIGGINS's brother.

Also in Springfield, Ohio, was Patrick BIGGINS born about 1825 who named one of his daughters Rose Ann BIGGINS.

From a 1892 clipping "HE (Owen BIGGINS) HELPED BUILD THE GAS WORKS of this city, Springfield and was employed by that corporation for 20 years, He built the Gas Works at Hamilton, Ohio. When the Water Works of this city, Springfield, was built he assumed charge of the Pipe Works and construction which position he held until the time of his death."
