When Martha died in 1840, she was buried in Grove

this is due to family ties at the cemetery? Thompson was 33 years old
with a son, Hugh, about 6 and daughter, Mary Margaret, about 4 when their mother
died.
A year and a month later he married Sarah FULTON. They had six children and were
married 21 years when she died of cancer in 1862. He was 54 at the time of
Sarah's death. The
Civil
War (1861-1865)
broke out while she was dying. They lived
near the Mason-Dixon Line, the area of SW PA that was often claimed by PA. Land
deeds for the "Steam Mill" purchased by Thompson and Sarah WHITE are
dated May 1855.
