- Peter R. GARRITY, Sr., 85 of 2143 Clifton av.,
died in his residence at *:45 a.m. Saturday following an extended period
of ill health. Born in Springfield, Jan. 12, 1859, he was a life-long
resident of the community. He had been preceded in death by his wife,
Mary Ann and a daughter, Mrs. Catherine BOLTON, who died three years
ago. He is survived by three sons, Robert, Frank, and Peter R., Jr. all
of Springfield, and three daughters, Miss Mary GARRITY, Mrs. William H.
COLLINS, and Mrs. Matthew SHERIDAN, also of Springfield, five
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the
O'Brien funeral home but will be returned to the residence Sunday to lie
in state until time for services at St. Raphael Church, Tuesday at 9
a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
