Bonnie Bhara85303@aol.com wrote on 8 Apr 1998:    I have an Anna BIGGINS married to Matthew McNAMARA c. 1895. Matthew was born 1869 in Ottawa IL.  They had a son, Matthew Joseph McNAMARA born 1896 and husband Matthew died 1898.  I know that in 1906-1909 Anna and
son Matthew Joseph were living in Joilet IL.  The McNamara's were all Irish Catholics. Any connection?

I have some information on births and deaths in Ireland that show my relatives came from Ballinrobe, Mayo, Ireland.  I've looked at a lot of microfilm on Births and Deaths in Ireland and virtually all of the Biggins in the 1800's were in County Mayo.  Unfortunately, Irish birth records don't begin until 1864.   I've attached a copy of the file on Births in Ireland for the years I've looked at.   It is an excel spreadsheet. Below is all I have about my older Biggins ancestors.  The first child I found a record of was born in 1864.  So John and Mary Biggins may be about the same age as your ancestor Bridget Biggins.

My g-g-grandmother was Bridget BIGGINS... b. Ireland abt. 1845 (don't know where) m. Phila., PA, 13 June 1869 to Michael Kelly (also b. Ireland abt 1835 - Civil War vet) d. Phila., PA, 2 Jan. 1891  My great aunt remembers a Jim BIGGINS and Delia BIGGINS, who may have been Bridget's niece and nephew.  Jim had a son, Joe who joined the Christian Brothers, and a daughter Sue.  Jim and Sue were probably born in the early   1900's in Phila. That's all I know but I would love to know more.  Does any of this connect  with your Biggins'?
